Hi, everyone. Sorry for the late recap post. Lots of other things took priority. But as the old adage states, better late than never
.
Our contestant for this episode is 28-year-old Lisa-Marie Frenette from Quebec City. She works for TonResto.ca, a website that serves as a guide to the best restaurants in Quebec. Lisa-Marie aspires to open her own restaurant someday, and will put her winnings towards accomplishing that dream. She also loves to cook.
The models descend, and instead of the usual 20 women and 6 men, we have 26 chefs from across Quebec. Each one has a surprise for Lisa-Marie, and the surprise include cookware, cookbooks, cooking lessons, kitchen utensils, gift certificates, and one-on-one meetings, among other things.
Chef Daniel Vézina then arrives on set, and presents Lisa-Marie with a cooking lessons for her and nine of her friends. That's a pretty sweet deal. Also sweet: Three of the cases have Nissan smart keys inside, one of which starts a 2014 Nissan Versa, worth
$20,700. If you're joining us for the first time, Le Banquier is a sponsor-driven program, and Nissan is one of their sponsors.
The usual bonuses - Capital One and the Surprise case - are in play as well. Lisa-Marie picks case 19, and the dealing gets underway.

Either way, we know that Lisa-Marie sold out way too early. But did she just sell the jackpot, something that UK contestants have done a lot lately?
Julie opens Lisa-Marie's case 19 to reveal
$150,000. So it's still not a great deal, but it's not nearly as bad as it could've been. Case 14, the other remaining case, had the
$500,000.
But the good news is that Lisa-Marie returns to Quebec City with a total of
$156,140 in cash and stuff, including a brand-new car.
More fun this Sunday with another episode. I'll be back with a recap after it airs.
