Arthur was already making extra time , as his original contact was planning 2 months of shows , TF1 quickly renewed it with the good ratings but won't be renewing it again as "people are less likely to go for the big money due to the economical crisis , so it makes the game way less interesting"

I've seen eight episodes of APOAL and precisely one Deal. That's not interesting either!

Watch out, because Endemol could react and change other versions, including (especially) the UK show, to encourage more gambling...

So the French are even more Wakeyistic than us then? Was it their version I saw with the jackpot winner who turned down ever-increasing AMOs on an all-or-nothing finish?

Viewing figures are holding up well here and it seems the core audience aren't that bothered what type of game they see. It came through its poorest spell (which was as much down to bad luck as caution) and is still going strong.

You mean the video I uploaded on Youtube in late 2005 then yes, it was the French version. The Italians have the same approach as they tend to go to the end on most occasions.

I wouldn't worry about it as you stated the obvivous that we're not bothered. In reality some folk would like people to deal to see the pleasure and pain through the process that is the proveout.

There's potential entertainment in every game, just of varying degrees dependent more on the players' character than their utility curves. Apparently TF1 just doesn't get that; Channel 4, and even Brighter Pictures/Endemol West, do.

Oh, if only it were that easy, my friend :D .

If I did, you can be sure I'd tinker with the format in order to decrease failure ;) .

I think I'll be watching Mad Mark's Untitled Game of Luck when I come to my mum in Corsica on holiday.
No, I definitely will be watching. I'll even make recaps for it.
