Who is it for you? For me Elvis from Dec 2011 and John from 2006. He said he needed money for his family and declines 25k and wins a blue. For Elvis he declined 91 percent of the mean and ended winning 250 quid.

£10,000 Kerry-Anne's final gamble without question. Risking £130,000 to gain £110,000 is pure foolishness. She even admitted in her post-game interview that she got way too carried away in chasing the jackpot and she definitely will regret turning that offer down.

Joycey - She turned down £90,000 on a £5 / £250,000 finish and won the £5.

Anyone remember Corinne? Dumbest contestant in the show's history, in this doctor's view.

How in the world was her final gamble more reckless than Joycey's? :Jimmy_is_great £4.99 is nothing compared to £88,000 and £90,000. Also, Corrine had a clear ambition that only the jackpot would achieve (a 200k vintage Bentley) whereas all of Joycey's ambitions easily could've been achieved with £90,000 (I think her main ambition was to have a HUGE family cruise).

Also, I'd like to give an honourable mention to £50k Rich, who undoubtedly made the most reckless 5 box No Deal. Declining £85,000 with the possibility of a 50p/£5 finish is pure insanity, regardless of how much you want to win the jackpot.

How about Tony who won 50p in 2009 after rejecting 40,000

If you're talking about his 5 box No Deal, that's incomparable with the recklessness Rich showed be declining £45,000 more than Tony with the only difference being he had £100,000 instead of Tony's £35,000. Sure, Tony had a 50/50 chance to the final offer being considerably less, but he only had a 10% chance of it not being five figures. Tony's final gamble (risking £16,000 on a 50p/£50k finish) was somewhat more questionable, but the Banker was offering him over 2 to 1 odds, so it's somewhat reasonable that he chased it. Heck, had I NOT turned £40,000 previously, I probably would've no dealt it myself, especially now with Box 23.

He definitely made the most reckless 8 box gamble. It was more or or less the average on a 2 box game for goodness sake!

He was far from reckless. That 35k offer at 5 box was CRAP for the board, especially with only one box to open. He then was unfortunate enough to all 3 reds in succession (a 10% chance), and the Banker didn't give him a reasonable offer to escape with (he offered £6,000 on a 500/750/£50k board which is a JOKE).

Also, since I imagine you'll mention Zaid's crash from £36,400 to £100 next, read above (minus the one box at a time) for an explanation as to why he wasn't reckless.

I’m honestly surprised at how many people considered Tony from October 2008 to reckless, His offers were AWFUL  - At 8-box he had the top 4 and £10k as a back-up i think, and he was offered just £17k or something like that, ACB has said it all for me about the offers from 5-box onwards. Of course, this was standard for late-2008 banker and it being a special week, they wanted to keep the offers low to make sure the game got to 5-box (try telling that to Chris who played the next day!)

I think what made some people see Tony as greedy or reckless was the fact that he really beat himself up so much for not taking £35k before his game collapsed. But, he did win a holiday after succeeding at the trick or treat twist at 5-box so it wasn’t all bad!!

If anything Tony’s no-dealing was more justifiable than Pammy no-dealing £15k on a 50p/£10/£100k 3-box and crashing the day before! (Although Pammy wasn’t really reckless, it was more the banker egging her on by promising a 2-box offer of £30k, and then raising it to £35k if she kept the £100k in play, which she sadly didn’t. Pammy and Tony’s game were both as gutting to watch as each other! :( )

180% of the FD, 76% of the mean.

Yep, I would say that was rather reckless as he only had 2 reds left. The Banker even gave him a bail out offer of £16,000 at 3-box but that was declined too.

Wow, did I really say £16,000 was crap on that thread? :Jimmy_is_great

In isolation, £16,000 was a generous bail-out for the board and one that most should take in absence of a Callum-esque guarantee, but compared to the £23,000 offer it could be described as "crap" for the board statistically. ;)

What about Matty (1)? He dismissed an incredibly generous £20k at 14-box with only the £35k, £50k and £250k higher!

Also note that he got too cocky in the early part of the game and looked like he wanted to shoot himself after his game crashed when he realised he'd gotten too cocky and dismissed some generous offers!

Surprised no one mentioned Di from March 2007. She was offered a staggering £44,000 on a 2-blues/£15k/£20k/£250k five-box and DECLINED it, pretty much unprepared for the worst case scenario. And you could only imagine how gutted she was when she lost the £250k in the very first box and instantly DEALT at the final offer of £8,000 on a 10p/£20,000 final showdown!

I found her somewhat annoying anyway, and i'll never forget the way she cried like a little kid when Patrick undersold the £250k despite still winning £50,000!!!!

I remember that Di's 5 box offer was so generous that basicasic had this to say about it:

basicasic wrote:
Well I prefer to see a bit of bravery than wimpery but that was bordering on reckless. With an inflated offer like that in a 1 box game it was the obvious time to deal. I would have dealt like a shot.

And he was one of the Three Wakeyteers who dominated the forum until they got banned in the aftermath of Mike's game in September 2008.  ;) ;) I wish he'd come back under his new alias of "trancematics" already. The last time he visited the site was in August but the last time he posted was in January 2012.
