In the light of today's game, which was perhaps the most depressing 1p win I've since I began watching in May 2010 (tying with Beryl from Feb 2011), what, in your opinion, is the worst 1p win of the 48 we've had?

For me, nothing comes before Trevor. The sheer nature of it, being that finding anything other than the £250,000 would result in the offer breaking the ceiling and probably reaching the Moon....I've lost my train of thought there, but basically I think I meant, how the game went from one pole straight to the other in a matter of milliseconds, and for Trevor to win the penny at the end instead of the £250, makes it probably the worst 1p win I've ever seen.

There was a lot of bravery - perhaps a bit of recklessness, from my current point of view - to turn down £9,900 at 5-box, and to have it go down to the final box and for that box to be the £250,000 was just heartbreaking.

He seemed to take it....well, a bit iffy-ish really, from what I remember. But can't be blamed, given what had happened.

Matty and Jolene were very similar. Probably would say Matty, though. Perhaps Sally...

Definitely Matty. He turned down a ridiculously generous 2nd offer which was against his true preferences and he probably would've taken it had there not been a huge stigma about it. He then felt forced to decline virtually a stick after a great round and then saw his game crash through the floor and he took it horribly.

My answer is all of them. They all sucked equally, and I can't single one out. Some were the result of greed; others were the result of the world's worst luck.

Matty because he swapped £35,000 for the 1p... And the atmosphere after the opening of his box was mortifying... :(

I remember Matty's game. He looked absolutely ill after all was said and done.

Some of the others took it will, but in retrospect, they probably shouldn't have.

Mad acting skillz FTW, I think.

Worse than that - he swapped away £50,000!

But yeah, Matty's was one of the most painful.

Agreed with Matty, he might've gotten too cocky at the start, but it was still sad seeing the way he (and his other half) took the crash and the total silence in the studio at the end was saddening too, the poor guy just looked so depressed about it :(

But i also found Aurora's pretty depressing too, in contrast to Matty turning down generous early offers, Aurora just couldn't do anything about it as she was given 6 joke offers, and so the only way she could've avoided the club was to swap really :(

Mev. He was offered a very generous £10,000 which was about 79% of the mean and he declined it! He SHOULD NOT have been a 1p Club member. That offer had "DEAL!" written all over it. Even the £7,000 after that was dealable too.

Rod's from September 2009 was my first 1p win, so I'm maybe duty bound to say that!

I'll also always remember Mariyam's (amongst others) because she declined that £60K!

Matty's was painful, certainly, I can't remember seeing someone change so much in 30 minutes. Calling for a third adbreak is kind of amusing in retrospect given what happened to the show though. ;)

Does PJ count as a 1p win? Because that was horrible viewing, too. That was the moment Endemol realised, for the first time, they could go too far - that LTL bonus felt very much created on the hoof.

I'm going to say Anji for this as she was offered a SWAP only on a £20k/1p finish and they didn't have the LTL to get them out the proverbial excrement like they did for PJ. :(

I actually found Matty's REALLY funny becuase I just took completely against him from the start of the show. (God I'm an a**ehole saying that) :-D

No you aren't! Its admirable that true fans are able to give examples when they are happy a game goes against the player, for whatever reason. Something that gets me riled up is when they take forever to choose, or put so much personal emphasis on a particular box. For heavens sake, its random choices, not flipping Mastermind.

When a celebrity goes on the show and wins 1p for charity, you're looking at the final nail in the coffin for what may soon become a tired franchise.

"I went on Deal or No Deal, and played for a charity that was near and dear to my heart. I say this in the past tense because I only won 1p. Now they've dropped me as their official spokesperson and endorser. Boy, did I ever foul that one up. I admit, I was never really that good with fundraising efforts to begin with."
