I think the first time I saw the UK version of DoND was when I saw Catherine Tate's "game" in 2007. Because this was obviously a joke, I just thought this was a wonky UK spoof of the Deal or No Deal game. But then some related videos popped up, one of which was Laura's win. The deeper I got, the more engrossed I became into this strange world of DoND UK.

Where did you start?

For me, probably Jessica from January 2006; however, I only saw a snippet of that, from her deal at £41,000 onwards.

First full game was probably Mumtaz.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

I cannot remember exactly. Probably some game from somewhere in Season 1. I began watching properly early in Season 2; my earliest recollection is a woman who was offered a set of steak knives with an early offer!

De's 1p win was the first game I saw when I began watching full time again.

The first portion of a game I watched for this version was £21k Donna's (and it was back when I thought THOSE offers were HORRIBLE  ). The first full episode I watched was £50k Rich's, when someone whose username was "Banker's Nephew" posted episodes on you-tube. I was hoping after that episode that many people on this version had a similar strategy as him, but I was disappointed after I saw surrounding games. I still kept watching games on that channel until the 2000th game when he stopped posting episodes, at which point I was very disappointed. I then started experimenting with proxy servers to see if I could watch episodes on 4oD. I found an excellent website which came up with http codes each day that I could use to access 4oD as if I was in the UK. However, in December, around the time of Sarah's game, the website was shut down for some reason. Not able to find another reliable proxy server, I searched to see the results of episodes, originally stumbling upon Digital Spy. Around New Years Eve, I stumbled across this forum and was very pleased with it's bigger and better commentaries, and the rest is history. ;)

I watched quite a lot of full games from early 2007, the first one I can remember being Bunney's game. I can't remember missing a show from 2008! But one I vividly remember is Bing's from Valentine's day...

I remember Banker's Nephew! Between him and ILoveDealOrNoDeal.co.uk I was able to see games from 9-box on, if not the entire game. But then those two places left and I was left to just this forum.

It was a couple of weeks (or so) when it first started. Can't remember which. I used to think it was live as they knew the date of when it was on.

Episode 2 was the first one I watched, I'm not sure why I didn't watch the first as I can remember watching Des L's Countdown beforehand. I got a little bit hooked.

The one where the guy won £9,000 or something like that, and something about "can money and funny go together?"

My first pilgrim game was in infamous Emma from Bankers Birthday 2012!

Can't remember my first one, my mum came to stay with me for Christmas 2007 and by the time she left I was hooked, she's given up on it now, mostly.

I remember seeing Jehad's game in last season 4/2009 - so my first game was possibly a short time before that!

First game with my grandparents, didn't think it would catch on to be honest!!

But being a huge fan of Noel from the House Party days (and getting some pretty special signed personal memorabilia from that era! ;)), I persevered and the show got into its stride, Noel became less jittery, and it became much more than a game of opening boxes. The key to Deal's success of course that viewers can identify with the dilemmas the players face, and relate and connect with some of the contestant's backgrounds and empathise with them.

That's the key for me: you actually feel something for them, you have tracked their journey over a few weeks. No other gameshow has created this soap-opera quality about it, and probably never will again once the contract ends...

The first game I saw would have been the first Saturday show. I had been following the commentaries on Bother's Bar over the first week but back in 2005, there was no 4OD, no Sky plus so I didn't get to see many of the first few weeks of shows.

Mine was Simon just before Xmas 2005! I just recall seeing someone win £250 and everyone being depressed about it and i was thinking "What's wrong with winning £250?" :-)

I really can't remember the first game I ever saw. It was one of the series 1 games.

I saw the first show. In fact, I think the first show I missed was Arlette's in early January 2006, and that I had recorded; the first one I genuinely didn't see was months away, though I forget which one it was.
