I didn't watch the first couple of months as I only discovered the show after Christmas that year, though saw a fair few of them on More4 repeats the following summer. But I think Noel was a lot less Wakeyistic to start off with. Also I guess none of the original contestants wanted to be the first one to go away with a blue, having seen everyone before them win a respectable sum of money. It was Raj, the last of the original 22, who eventually became the first blue winner going away with 10p!

The current red streak now reaches 17, the equal third best of all time, and 16 out of 17 £10k+.

Really don't want to jinx it but if tomorrow's player avoids winning a blue, will this month be the first full month since Nov 05 to only feature ONE blue win (Walter's)?

What a contrast to months like Sep 07 and Sep 08!!! :)

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: Actually, he was quite Wakeyistic enough in Trevor 1's game, although five days later he told Andy Kelly 'I never ever on this show want to treat money as some flippant, take-it-or-leave-it commodity'. How long did it take for him to renege on that promise? Six months? Less? I date the final tipping point to Brenda's game, in which he overtly says 'I think you made the right decision' in No Dealing £31k, then dismisses her Deal (for £57k, the second-highest offer of all time back then - it would've been a five-box active play record at the time!) as 'certainly not a brave (decision)'. Cue a proveout offer on the mean, and the beginning of the end for the idea of host neutrality. The players followed the host's lead soon enough and only stopped in April 2007 - by which time the show as I knew it was dead.

I don't suppose anyone has any other stats on the other streaks that we're competing against, i.e, avearge winnings, highend, lowend, or just a list of the figures.

I'm not going to hide it, our streak has brought out my competitive side. I want to go for 50!!!!! ha ha ha.

Even if it ends tomorrow (I am very hazy about what happens from this point), then I'm really happy and proud of me and my mates for doing so well. Surely even the Wakeyist of Wakeyists can't look at the list of wins we have had and be flippant about it. DOND rules, you've changed all of our lives (life-changing?)!!! Thankyou Endemol!!!

The "DOND Stats" link at the top has a list of all the games (though not quite up to date at the moment).

The first 25 games were all red wins, but 12 of them were less than £10,000. Biggest win was £120,000 (which remains the second biggest of all time I think) and smallest was £1,000.

By the way just out of interest Daniel, do you know how long the streak is going to be, i.e. who is the next player to win a blue and when?

Not asking for any spoilers, would rather wait and see, but just wondered whether or not you knew the outcome!

No. I'm a little hazy from this point. I know a few of the games coming up and what the value is, but it's very patchy. I also don't know when people are going to play. So it could end today for all I know..... It's making the games pretty fun to follow to be honest. It is weird, not being in the know, but it's making it much more exciting!

I've updated the list in the first post of this thread here - viewtopic.php?f=37&t=7178&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

We're on quite a streak at the moment - 18 shows before if I've got it right.

I've just got my spreadsheet to give me some 22-point moving averages for all of the games so far. Here's the shoddily compiled graph.

Image

The peak of £36,209.55 comes in January 2007. Specifically the 22 games starting with Laura's scooping of the £250k and ending with Bunney's £110k haul. The low point of £5627.77 is a result of the appalling luck of the first 22 players following the 2008 summer break, 11 of which went home with less than a grand.

(By the way, the numbers at the bottom refer to the number of the first game in the 22 being averaged.)

It is quite interesting, I guess love week skewed it a bit as people were more likely to deal then but it does seem that we've finally got a good mix of luck, moderate/calculated risk taking and board reading.

So that's the record equalled then! Never thought that would happen.

As well as that, we've got a 12-game streak of £10,000 and above wins, equalling the previous one between Walter and Tom's games.

Oh crap, that was bound to happen yesterday after I posted that!

Still I think the longest ever £10k+ streak, beating the two runs of 12 in the record-equalling red run of earlier this year?

Lauren (£100,000) and Billy (£68,555)
Alan (£37,000) and Bridget (£50,000) (although this was xmas star so not necessarily filmed in that order)

Just thought I'd bump this thread, as it's kinda linked that remarkably, I've currently seen 29 Red wins in a row as a Deal Or No Deal pilgrim!

NO. 26: MO - 24/03/2014 - £50K BOX - £26K PEAK - £23,026 WON
NO. 27: STEVIE - 25/03/2014 - £35K BOX - £23K PEAK - £23,000 WON
NO. 28: LORRAINE - 26/03/2014 -£20K BOX - £53K PEAK - £7,000 WON
