Nope, you're right, there are just 4 left now:

10p/ £750
10p/ £1,000
50p/ £3,000
£250/ £250,000

The most common finish to date is £50/ £35,000, which has cropped up an amazing 11 times (Okiem, Pat G, Richard, Francesca, Steve, Derek, Annie, George, William, Whitey, Ann... phew!)

I notice how half of them (about) were in 2006 or very soon after. Interesting that.

Just a question, since I haven;'t watched for a while, is Kirsty's £75k/£250k still the best in-play finish we've had?

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Yes, given that the only way to better that finish is the £100k/£250k and we haven't had that in active play still.

And because of yesterday's first...the ONLY final two configuration, after nearly 4 1/2 years of the show, we're still yet to have...is £250/£250,000

It's pretty amazing that there are any final twos we haven't seen on the show yet. Statistically, we should have seen every finish at least five times by now! In fact, the chances of a specific finish not being seen in 1,267 shows is... 0.41%.

In other words, it's about a 1 in 244 chance. And since there are 231 different finishes out there (a number that is quite close to 244), to have one of those finishes hitting a 1 in 244 chance is pretty much exactly what you'd expect. It's certainly a lot less remarkable than seeing every finish at least five times would be.

(I am pedantic.)

Begs the question as to how long it'll take...if anything it's one of the more anticipated final two's (over the years with Noel saying "find the 250...*£250 goes*, no wrong 250!" etc)...

But the question is not so much when/if we will see that finish, as will a player be in-play with it? The evidence doesn't look good judging from its 'neighbouring' final 2s, £100/£250,000 and £500/£250,000; There have been 12 of these finishes collectively, but only Lisa (on the 1000th show) has been in play, dealing for £50,000 (ok, Jess has a vaguely tempting BG as well, but...).

I can't think the stats are too good for other blue/250k finishes being in play either, although of course there is one infamous example which I don't need to mention...!
