I'm praying Argentina beat South Africa, as that'd make our job a whole lot easier in the final. I cannot believe we're in the final though!

Watched that one and am stunned, I thought France were dominant but the fact they never really looked like piling on the points says a lot.

Personally, I have to wonder how South Africa can mess this up...

So it's all about revenge in the final...

England vs South Africa, next Sunday at 8.00 - 7 days from now we'll know if we have successfully defended our crown!

Thurd placeplay-off between France and Argentina is on Saturday, also at 8.00

I'm going to jump on Sol's pessimistic bandwagon this time, we've got 6 days of being World Champions left.

Normally I'd say we're stuffed, especially with the way South Africa played tonight.

But we was saying the same thing four years ago, Australia were gonna trounce us. And look what happened!

I say we root for them! They're gonna win! We've already created history; being the first defending champions to reach the final!

Apart from Australia last time that is... ;) We need to actually win it to make history.

South Africa will be favourites but all the pressure will be on them.

Correction; the final's Saturday isn't it? The playoff is Friday.

Anyway. I'm calling South Africa to win - all they need to do is handle the pressure and England's unrelenting physicality, and I don't doubt they will do both and in doing so free up their skilled backs to run riot.

I repeat, I wonder how South Africa can mess this up.

I was told Sunday - oh crumbs I'm at work Saturday til 8 - NO I'M NOT! Just got the day off! :-D YAY!

3/1 England
4/11 RSA

Bookies aren't being nice. Then again Josh Lewsey and Mike Catt probably won't get to play, and we need Catt especially if Wilkinson is always under pressure.

This tournament has been crammed full of shocks - the latest being Argentina thrashing France tonight to claim third place!

So the way the tournament has run its course, we should be able to pull off the final shock! :D

All over.

15-6 - South Africa are the new World Champions.

In one word - ROBBED - that was DEFINITELY a try!

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the light side of life.

Really, we should have won. That try, and we gave away penalties we shouldn't...

I reckon even if it was a try - and I'm not entirely convinced either way, it did look good but you have to be certain to give it really, and the TMO took so long to decide on it - South Africa would only have come back stronger.

They dominated the lineout and had the edge in every other department. Not to mention playing much better throughout the tournament.

Worthy winners for me, and England can be proud that they restricted the South Africans to five penalties!
