I've had reports of the game being sold on eBay. The game is, and will always be, FREEWARE! I have currently made £0.00 from this game, and I believe it is unfair for someone to make money off someone else's work. Please, if you find anyone selling it anywhere report them and e-mail me. Thanks!

Temporarily avaliable from http://rezzie.getmyip.com/dond, although I'm hosting it locally and it may be intermittent. Please e-mail me if you can host it on a more stable server.
Please report any bugs either in this thread, e-mail me or add them to the bug tracker at (for now): http://rezzie.getmyip.com/bugtracker.
Username: guest Password: guest.

Features:
  • Based on the UK (Channel 4) version.
  • Money will slide off the screen and stack up at last 6, like on the show.
  • 2 methods of selecting players box - randomly chosen or player can pick their own.
  • Features realistic bankers offers which can be tweaked through the options.
  • Bankers offers will be affected by how well player did in last round.
  • Highscore table showing winnings, best offer and amount in box for 10 players.
  • Phone ringing and crowd response sounds.
  • Has always, and will always be FREEWARE. It must not be sold!
  • A clean, minimalist and graphical interface makes it easy to use.
  • It is a small, stand-alone executable. The only dependancy is the .NET Framework 2.0. No registry changes are made.
  • Advanced update checking which can automatically update if a new version is found.

NOTE: The .NET Framework 2.0 is needed. You'll get an initialisation error if you do not have it installed.

Source avalaible for download at http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=109833. Feel free to modify and redistribute it, but please credit me where appropriate. Also, you are forbidden from selling either the source, a compiled version of it, or any derivative works from it.

1.7.1 : README
+ Money in boxes is now drawn as on TV (with white border) & font size reduced
+ "The contestant is..." delay can now be removed in options
+ Added small, almost hidden label to bottom of game screen as people are selling the game :(

* Crowd now cheers when high numbers revealed if player already accepted an offer & vice versa
N: If anyone has any better crowd sounds I would appriciate it if you can send them to me, contact details above

1.7
+ Crowd responds to contents of box (can be disabled)
+ Last box must now be clicked before revealing contents of players
+ Added warning to About form about purchase of game - some people are selling it on eBay (This will always be FREE).

* Offers will no longer be close to lowest value (e.g. £10,100 offer with £10k and £15k in play)
N: Minor tweaks with offer values and round ratings
N: If anyone has any better crowd sounds I would appriciate it, contact details above ("Contact Me")

1.6.2
+ Squash effect is animated
+ Animation speed can now be configured through options

* Game no longer crashes when offer is out of bounds at low values
N: Setting the animation speed to 0 disables animation
N: Minor code cleanups & optimizations

1.6.1
+ Money values will now slide off the screen, not just vanish
* Loading screen will no longer flicker when showing game form
N: Squash effect now only happens once, at 6 boxes (not 5)

1.6
+ Money values on side of board now sqash down at penultimate offer
+ Restored white text on coloured background when revealing box contents
+ Offers are weighted based on how well player did in previous round

* Offers under £1 were not being rounded - could have been offered 27.5p etc

1.5.1
+ Secondary option added in XML file for offer generation, used for high (£35,000+) numbers
* Offers will no longer be below the minimum value on board (thanks Sam Harrow)
* Proveout winnings now shows max possible winnings during proveout (i.e. highest offer, or amount in box if that's larger)
* Last 2 boxes resulted in winning contents of box if offer was accepted (thanks jonny)

1.5
+ Added Options form to easily change settings without having to reload
+ If phone is set to play sound it will ring max [OfferTimeout] times, if no sound it will vibrate for max [OfferTimeout] seconds
+ Progressbar will now take [OfferTimeout] seconds to complete (if shown instead of phone)

* Fixed some issues with game export that resulted in "-1" being displayed for box numbers, or only first round shown
* Swap will no longer be offered during proveout (thanks safc4eva)
* Proveout will no longer be offered if last round and not going to be offered a swap
* Proveout winnings would be 0p if you were offered the chance to swap but declined
* Bankers offer would sometimes be blue even for high offers, not anymore :)

N: "reload" cheat removed, made redundant by options form.

1.4
+ Can now dump a log of games from the end game screen. Click "Save"
* Better bounds checking with offers. No more silly offers on low numbers!
* Changed "Avaliable" to "On Table" to make more sense, plus changed it's colour to make it more visible
* Added missing label for "Status" (showing when you accepted) on end game screen

1.3
+ Bankers offers have had a major rehaul, should be a lot more realistic now and are customisable through options
+ Added the option to use a vibrating, ringing phone (default) instead of the "Generating offer..."
+ The contents of each box are delayed before being shown, and the font is coloured instead of the background
+ Loading screen fades in :)

* Bankers offers have better handling for min/max values (no more 2p offers with 1p and £50 on the board)
* Rewritten XML import/export, should be more reliable + upgradable
* Highscores will now be imported from corrupt files/past versions

N: Cheats updated to reflect changes in options - see readme for details

1.2.1
* Improved the randomness of the generator, wasn't seeded correctly
* Fixed overview table not showing "Accepted" if accepting offer in round 6
* Updated cheat "updatehighscore" to include box times for highscore setting
* Updated cheat "setboxtimes" to save setting (used to reset each run)

N: Removed some redundant code

1.2
+ Added player box selection methods: random or choose your own
+ Added proveout mode to see how you could have done (dealt to early/late?)
+ Added a game overview to the final screen showing a breakdown of each round
+ Added "In box" to highscores, to see if player made profit/loss

* Some nasty XML errors ... still plenty left :(
N: Some optimizations with displaying the font, should have slightly better AA now

1.1.0.0
+ Player can now choose their own box, or have it randomly selected
+ 2 new 'cheats' added for controling offer wait times in game
+ Added shortcut keys to all menu items

* Updater will now search for process more intelligently

1.0.0.0
+ Initial Release

Below are some sample screenshots (fullsize avaliable on above page):

I've downloaded and played it. It's a bit of a poor do that you can't pick a box yourself. It picks a box for you [the dark one].

Aaron - are you getting an initialisation error? If so, ensure you have .NET framework 2.0 installed. It won't run without.

Released a new version (1.1) which allows you to choose your box, or have it randomly selected. Some minor other changes.

A readme is included in the zip/7z packages. The 'installer' is actually just the standalone and doesn't have the readme.

The updater might not work, it's still pretty experimental. New version avaliable on above page.

It WOULD be my favourite version so far... if you could continue after you dealt, to prove it was the right decision. The fact that you just see what was in your box straight away is a bit of a let-down. I'd be completely addicted if you were allowed to do that...

Best one yet!!!. I will review it on Next Weeks Inside the Boxes.

EDIT : I just got so angry at my last round i banged my head on the table. Thanks to your game i have a nose bleed. You never mentioned there would be blood in the game. Then again it is red.

Yeah great version, as others have said it just needs the proveout part to complete it.

Thanks for all the positive feedback! I'm working on getting a proveout phase added for next version.

Are there any bugs or anything else with the interface that is annoying anyone?

I guess it's one of the hardest things to get right in a DOND game but a couple of things with the banker's offers I've noticed:

The early offers don't seem to vary much - got an opening offer of £1,600 after an all-blue round, and £1,200 another time after losing 3 of the big amounts.

Also have seen some inflated offers at the end - 10p/£1 and offer was £1, and £138,000 or something like that with blue/£250k (though I no-dealt it and won the £250k of course!)

Yeah sorry, the offers still need a fair bit of tweaking. There are measures in place to prevent it going above max/below min on table, but it's still not very smart.

Also, each offer can very +-20% from 'recommended' offer, to try make it a bit less predictable. This can result in little variation in earlier rounds though. Other than adding a timer to see how confident the player is, I don't see how else to implement this?

Nearly got proveout phase added, just working on getting a few more stats at the end.

I'd suggest a greater degree of randomness in rounds 1 and 2, and some "over-reactions" to good and bad rounds that are typical of how the Banker behaves.

v1.2 on site / through updater.

Changes:
+ Added player box selection methods: random or choose your own
+ Added proveout mode to see how you could have done (dealt to early/late?)
+ Added a game overview to the final screen showing a breakdown of each round
+ Added "In box" to highscores, to see if player made profit/loss
* Some nasty XML errors ... still plenty left :(
N: Some optimizations with displaying the font, should have slightly better AA now

Offers are still touch and go, will try and get a better formula worked out for those. I'm sure there are plenty of bugs in this so please let me know if you find any :)
