I had dealt at the 8 box stage with £17,700 as the deal, and among the boxes left at that point included the 1p, 10p, £20,000, £100,000 and £250,000.

And that turned out to be the perfect game, with the screenshot below:

Blimey, you averted a... 5p final offer? Nice.

Not an easy decision at the 5 box stage, but only 10% chance of that disaster scenario.

Incidentally,

On the first proveout round after I took the £17,700, I did take out the £20,000 and £250,000 (as the third box of the round) as two of the three boxes that round, leaving the £100,000 as the only box of consequence at that point. My offer after that point would have been just £1,900, which is exxtremely cruel, and I doubt in the real life game that the Banker would have went that low.

Second proveout round, I did take the £100,000 out as the third box of that round, leaving just 1p and 10p illustrated above.

The offer then indeed would have been 5p!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.
