We are getting a problem on the site with the size of signatures on peoples profiles. The site allows you to add signatures to your posts, but there are rules as to the maximum size allowed.
Lately the size and number of images in signatures has been creaping up and threads are becoming increasingly difficult to read.

Can I ask everyone to check their signatures and make sure that they are within the rules allowed for signatures and amend any that are not.

Below is a copy of the rules on signatures to help you check if yours is OK.

SIGNATURES:
Signatures (the customized greeting that closes your posts) should not exceed five lines in total (text&images). If using an image only this should not be over 150pixels in height or wider than 470pixels. Signatures may contain your name, a link, or your favorite quote. They may not contain links to offensive or "adult" sites. Signatures are a great form of expression, but they must be respectful of fellow forum members. You can tell us more about yourself on your profile page. Remember, "Brevity is the soul of wit." Admin reserve the right to delete any signatures that exceed these limits without warning.

In the past I have PM'd people whose signature was outside of these limits to ask for changes to be made, with the size of the forum now this is taking up more and more time. I will still try to do this and work with anyone who needs help in resizing their images, but will also reserve the right to delete any signature that is not within the rules without warning.

I hope you can appreciate the reasons for the need to make this announcement.

There seems to be a little problem recently with people's signatures being a bit too big... It's not a major problem, but they are required to be within a certain size limit, otherwise the sigs take over people's posts and it means it unnecessarily increases the size of the whole page.

Wherever possible, admin will try to re-size an image if it is too big, however the signature may be removed without warning if it's too big...

The maximum size a signature should be is 470 pixels wide and 150 pixels high, and the image shows the MAXIMUM size a signature should be.



You could have more than one image in your signature, however all images in it must NOT cover a greater area than that shown in the white image above. Similarly, if you place text under an image, this should be taken into account and the image made smaller if you plan to place text underneath...
