What is the right pronunciation for 2010?

Two thousand and ten, two thousand ten, or twenty-ten?

Vote now! :)

Yes although there's 1900 and 2000 which is not often referred to as twenty-hundred! :)

"Twenty ten" for me too.

I suppose people used "nineteen..." throughout the 20th century, but in the decade that's just gone, people almost always used "two thousand and...", and not "twenty...". I read that an English professor at Cambridge University (or something) stated the natural thing would be to call 2010 "two thousand and ten", and then start using "twenty..." from 2011 onwards. I don't know why he came to that conclusion though.

I think some people will still say "two thousand and..." even now, but surely they'll stop when we get to 2020 ("twenty twenty"!). Calling 2025, for example, "two thousand and twenty five" would be a bit of a mouthful! "Twenty twenty-five" would be far more logical.

Hah I just realised there should be a World Twenty20 cricket tournament in 2020... little things.

Two Thousand and Ten - I like to use as many words as I can in sentences, just for the sake of it, usually.

Fifteen and five, four and six.

Er, Twenty-ten for me. Two-thousand-ten is American. And the Americans can't speak.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Like the majority, Twenty-Ten.

It'll sound a bit weird saying Twenty-Eleven though, I must say.

Either 'two thousand and ten' or 'twenty-ten' will do, I don't think it really matters. I think as time goes on people will adapt to 'twenty-ten' 'twenty-eleven' 'twenty-twelve' and so on. I think 'twenty-ten' is probably the offical way of saying it though.
