360?

EDIT: No, that can't be right. 4,000 seems far too obvious as well!

Sides a,b,c, and d.

a and c are opposite sides. a and c are 20ft long x 20ft high x 1ft wide = 800 bricks.
b and d are oppostie sides. b and d border on to the end of a and c and so 20 bricks on all corners have already been counted. so b and d are 18ft long x 20ft high x 1 ft wide = 720

720 + 820 = 1,520.

Unless this house has already been started and too complete it you only need the last brick....

I think you could be on to something there. The answer's probably '1' because of the word "complete" in the riddle...

Is it something to do with the fact that there is no 'L' in those letters? As in Noel?

Correct!

I don't have eyes,
But once I did see.
Once I had thoughts,
But now I'm white and empty.
What am I?

Seems like nobody got that one. The answer is 'A Skull'.

You are in a room that is completly bricked in on all four sides, including the ceiling and floor. You have nothing but a mirror and a wooden table in the room with you. How do you get out?

Perhaps you go a bit crazy and put the mirror up against the wall, sit down at the table, and start talking to your reflection (presumably in the pitch black). After a while, you go so mad that you hallucinate that you've got out. When you realise you haven't actually got out, you go even more crazy and do a karate chop on the wall, thus breaking it and allowing you to escape.

The answer is:

You look in the mirror you see what you saw, you take the saw and you cut the table in half, two halfs make a whole, and you climb out the hole. :P

New one...

What word in the English language uses all five vowels plus Y in alphabetical order and uses each one only once?

Well... I wouldn't know had I not solved this riddle some years ago. Facetiously speaking.

Correct!

Name the word of three syllables, that when you take away five letters a male will remain. If you take away four letters, a female will remain. If you take away three lettters, a great man will appear. The entire word shows you what Joan of Arc was.

That's a good one.

Would I be right in answering the last part of the question first?

'Heroine' : Joan of Arc pertained to be.

'Hero' minus three letters, 'He' being male. By Jove, I think I've got it! :D

Sorry Banker, must try harder. ;)

Phil. (No other influence or website was involved in the answering of this question!)

Correct!

What word starting with BR, that with the addition of the letter E, becomes another
word that sounds the same as the first?

Brut? Brows? :?

Easy one...

There is a word which can be pronounced two ways.

The two pronounciations are opposites.

What is the word?
