Context: Earlier this afternoon, KP and I test piloted an idea we had for the new set of updates for this series. We conducted it over Facebook chat because it was merely a test. What unfolded, however was rather remarkable, and I needed to post it. The format of this game doesn't include all of the change I aim to make when this series returns in the coming days. For now, enjoy this...

Episode 60.5 of Aaron's DoND and we have KP here and he's ready to turn things yellow! We'll explain what that means after, but first...

... he chooses his twist! 1-6 please, David!

** RING **

He welcome you to this unaired mid-season pilot of sorts... and he is very intrigued to see this play out!

He has to reward that opening round you've just had, and the first offer reflects that...

In a moment, we're going to lose the median amount on that board, the £1,000, and the two amounts either side of it, the £250, and the £10,000... And we'll be replacing them with amounts ranging from 20p to £200,000 - all depending on how good your prediction is here.

So, what is the banker's first offer, David?

Quote:
I could see it being in the £26k bracket, certainly should be over half the mean...

PLAYER'S PREDICTION

£26,001

Coming in at a quid over the Governor...

BANKER'S OFFER

£23,000

Quote:
Not a terrible miss!

You were 13.05% out, and it means we're going to add one small (2p - £200), one medium (£2k - £26k) and one large number (£40k - £200k) to your board! This should be interesting, we have five boxes of small amounts, five of medium amounts and five of large sums of money, and I need you to pick one of each for me now please!

Quote:
Treble 4, please!

And here's your treble 4, David...

Small 4 - 20p :P

Medium 4 - £7,500!

And now the one we're most interested in...

Large 4 - £125,000!!

Quote:
Boom! Three six-figure boxes!

Excellent stuff David, this is an incredible board...

... and as you can imagine, that phone is going again... playing on what you said earlier about it being half the average, he's coming in at...

BANKER'S OFFER

£26,937.06

Quote:
That would be a gloriously odd amount to win! However, there's still room for even more, especially with the prediction opportunities out there. NO DEAL!

Alrighty, NO DEAL! And you're in control here, so pick one or more boxes!

Quote:
I'll start down the odds with 21...

21 - £35,000! Much less bad now after the £125k came into play!

Quote:
Not even that bad as it was with such a strong configuration! That ought to bring a similar offer, but the Banker will do an odd lowball, so let's add 13 and 15!

13 - £100!

15 - £7,500! The medium yellow!

Quote:
This board is TASTY

Four blues play four MASSIVE reds... Is it phone call time yet?

Quote:
Yeah, I'll get the Banker in here

The Banker is rather terrified by this board, and wonders what he can do to try and get you out with that configuration!

He's made his mind up, and now it's time for your Box 23 prediction as we did before, to hopefully swap one of your cards out for a better one!

Quote:
I think he'll think it has to be above the median, so...

PLAYER'S PREDICTION

£37,505.01

That is such a bizarre board and I love it :D

It's a bizarre prediction, but let's hope it's not bizarrely differs from the offer...

BANKER'S OFFER

£41,000

And it sure doesn't! At 8.25% we get rid of MONEY BACK in Box 23 and replace it with second DOUBLE!

    DOUBLE
    DOUBLE
    +£15,000

    HALF
    NOTHING

Quote:
EV+ 23 regardless, then... Could be very interesting depending on what I take to it!

That could give you a fantastic boost to your main game total, but we play on for now, we're at £41,000... Deal or No Deal?

Quote:
It's genuinely not bad, and obviously a lot of money, but with the Unlimited Minutes I've got so many ways to win big... still a NO DEAL!

Let's see what 11 brings...

This could evolve into one of the biggest games we've ever had...

11 - 20p!! And that median you were talking about earlier has just about doubled to £75k...

Is it time for a phone call or another box?

Quote:
Box 7!

7 - £10!!! Oh my actual...

Quote:
Let's get the Banker in!

Completely unprecedented territory now!! BT...

He sounds rather terrified, he has so little control over this game now, he has to put in a massive bid now...

Now you have one prediction still to make, and it'll either be your Offer Button prediction or your 23 Boost prediction! Given the twist, I think we know what you'll go for, but do you want to predict where he's gone now?

Quote:
£550k in six boxes... Bloody hell. He won't go too close to the mean, but I don't see him playing ridiculously for the sake of a prediction bonus that scarcely matters in comparison... So 23 Boost it is, right here...

PLAYER'S PREDICTION

£63,000

Boosting that Box 23 which could be so important. £63k, I can't recall us ever having a prediction so high, that's how good this game is!

The offer, is...

BANKER'S OFFER

£68,000

7.35% out, we add a +£20,000 card to Box 23!!

    DOUBLE
    DOUBLE
    +£20,000
    +£15,000

    HALF
    NOTHING

Quote:
Image

But now there's a second offer on the table... You can take the £68,000, or you can take

BANKER'S OFFER

£75,001 & NO 23

Or neither, of course!

Quote:
Oh bloody hell...

I'm wary of the 23 NOTHING... It's a ridiculously good board, but I think I've extracted quite enough from it, as I'm going to DEAL the flat £75,001!

With a 1/3 chance of peanuts on the table, it's tough to turn down that high a share of the mean!

It's a DEAL! Jumping out at this stage from one of our most incredible 6-box boards ever, if not the best! Proveout time now...

Quote:
Incredible game, no matter what. Would have gone for 9 now.

9 - £5!!! Were we ACTUALLY one box away?!!?!

Quote:
Well, I would have called here for fear of the Banker reacting badly to each new red as long as the blue remained...

** RING **

Two offers again...

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

£88,000

OR

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

£97,000 & NO 23

Unbelievable game. Number 5!

If this is 10p I swear to god...

... and it isn't.

5 - £125,000! EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE YELLOW BOXES!! THIS is where we'd have been right now...

Quote:
I'd have pushed on with 3 here!

Box 3, David...

3 - 10p!! Ten. Pence. I can't...

Quote:
This. Game.

Would have asked for a call now, if only to hear the Banker reaction!!

BT...

... and one of these two offers would have been an AMO...

OR

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

£144,000 & NO 23

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

And now we'd have been contemplating the Swap...

Quote:
Swap, yes.

£75,001 is yours...

Your peak offer was a potential £183,000...

Sticking to your guns that you would always swap, Box 17 all along, had...

... £250,000!!! THIS *beep* GAME!!

Quote:
I've got £75,001. Lisa Ajax mode on

Hahaha perfect!! I think the last thing we should do, like you do in your series, is see what your alternative offer would have become with Box 23:

    DOUBLE (£126,000)
    DOUBLE (£126,000)
    +£20,000 (£83,000)
    +£15,000 (£78,000)

    HALF (£31,500)
    NOTHING

Quote:
3!

3 then...

    Image

Quote:
Took the right type of offer anyway!!

EXCELLENT swerve! Ending on a high after the most incredible game we've witnessed!
