After a 14 month hiatus, ACB's Deal or No Deal is back.

Also, for about the millionth time in the series' 16 game run, I've tweaked the rules. The current rules can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=112&t=27841&p=893375#p893375

KP is playing today, and to start the game I shall ask him for 5 numbers (between 1 and 22) for the amounts he'll be removing from the board and 5 numbers (between 1 and 10) for the new amounts that will replace them.

I'm liking this rule set. I will go with 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to remove - and 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 to add.

Thanks. Hopefully whoever hosts my series on April Fools Day likes the new rules as well. ;)

Now, let's see what amounts won't be in your game:

There were 22 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

£100,000
£10,000
£500
£250,000
£10
£20,000
£75,000
50p

£10
£500

£10,000
£100,000
£250,000

I had to show you the whole list to prove I wasn't rigging it. :(

Sadly you hit the 1 in 23.1 chance of picking both of the top 2. Let's hope we can at the very least replace them with the other 2 six figure amounts.

And here's the 5 quirky amounts that will replace them:

£20
£200

£2,000
£25,000
£150,000

At least you have one six figure amount in play, but the board is still taking a massive shift in the Banker's favor. :(

I think I'll hold off for now, just because I'm not sure how malevolent the Banker will be at this early stage of a game that started well for him...

BANKER'S OFFER

£1,800

"The gift that keeps on giving" is Kodak's slogan, which originated with an ad for Kodak's Trimline Instamatic 18 Camera. ;)

You probably wouldn't have guessed anywhere near that low, so you made a wise decision to hold off predicting, especially as just one bad prediction could mess up your game a lot with this new format.

So, £1,800, Deal or No Deal?

I was definitely thinking more than that, but I also knew that there was always the chance of a joke offer, and certainly I'm not surprised to see one with a reference like that from you. :D :D

NO DEAL, obviously, let the game begin in earnest with 16, 14, and 12...

Let's hope this round prompts the Banker to make a proper offer.

16- £75,000 :(

The £150k is already isolated early on.

14- £35,000  :(

Surely this won't be the 1 in 680 worst possible round???!!!

12-
£150,000   :( :(

Board:

** RING **

The Banker forgot that April Fool's Day is next Sunday, and Box 12 actually contains £20. :P

Sadly the other two boxes are genuine, though. :(

The Banker apologizes for that last offer and the subsequent shenanigans, and promises that he'll make a fair offer to make up for it.

Prediction or No Prediction?

It's OK: I anticipated it and prepared for it. ;)

Unsurprisingly I'm going for bonus money right away, because it might be most of my winnings. :P

About £14k the mean... alarmingly unstable... a quarter of it? Maybe a tiny bit more?

PLAYER'S PREDICTION

£3,750

BANKER'S OFFER

£4,063

Coincidentally the Fair Deal of this board is £4,063.06, and I only know that because I still have that spreadsheet I spent hours making several years back that calculated the Fair Deal and Deal-Eye Benchmark of any 22 box board. ;)

That's a 7.7% miss, which means you're at least leaving here with £3,000 of bonus money. :)

With this already being a one box game in terms of the big money, will you be adding another 4k and change to that right now? Deal or No Deal?

There's a case for it... but with £3k locked in, not much of one. NO DEAL.

22, 18, and 20 now.

I think we're in for a proper game now.

Not scared of the Banker looking in my box so it's time for another prediction, and it's a Box 23 jackpot one because if the game crashes that's my outlet.

PLAYER'S PREDICTION

£6,500

BANKER'S OFFER

£5,000

You probably expected the Banker to make an offer significantly above the Fair Deal in response to that round and the £3k lock-in, but he ended up making a modest uplift, likely to catch you out!

You thankfully accounted for it, though, and as you are exactly 15% away from the offer and not a penny over, your Box 23 jackpot for this game is +£15,000. :)

I think your answer is fairly obvious here, but we have to stick to this bit of convention at the very least. £5,000, Deal or No Deal?

(EDIT: Yes, I realize I miscalculated and KP missed the offer by 30%.

Unfortunately I already opened the 3 boxes KP posted for Round 4 when I realized this, so the Banker will be looking inside KP's box at 8 box.)

A swift No Deal there. Let's hope the Banker makes a much bigger uplift should the 150k survive this round.

15- 1p :D

19- £100

Can you dodge a 7th consecutive bullet here?

21-
£20,000 :?

Round survived, but the gap widens!

The Banker just realized he made a mistake and you missed the last offer by 30%.

Therefore, the Box 23 jackpot of course is revoked, he is now taking your Box 3 to have a peek in it, and you cannot predict any future offers. :(

Box 3 has returned to the table with the Banker's seal on it.

The Banker claims he'll have 150,000 reasons to smile in the near future.

BANKER'S OFFER

£9,500

So, what on earth is the Banker hinting at, and will that affect your gameplay?? That's ultimately up to you to decide.

£9,500, Deal or No Deal?
