It's interesting to note that the average daily payout of DOND, around 16K is more than The Chase and Tipping Point, and considerably more than Pointless and Countdown. Most shows of The Chase see the contestants go home with nothing to balance the few high payouts, and The Tipping Point's maximum payout is £10,000 + a few mystery prizes (excluding Lucky Stars shows) . This is part of the reason that Deal or no Deal has lasted so long, and has the edge over other daytime gameshows imo.

I'd be interested to know the average paid out on Pointless. I do know the highest won on there is £24,750.
Eggheads has also had some massive jackpots. There was a team quite a while ago who won £75,000!

Well obviously Eggheads has an average payout of £1,000 per game, as that's what's added to the jackpot every episode regardless of the circumstances. Pointless, I imagine, has a pay-out of around £1,500 per game, as £1k is also added to the jackpot each day and there are, on average, roughly 2 pointless answers each day in the main-game (each of which adds £250 to the jackpot).
