Well, I think the boxes miiiight have a big say in whether or not he's right.

Only about a fifth of opening rounds keep the top five fully intact, so I'm obviously very happy so far. Banker obviously keeping things tight early, I'm sure he's saving himself for later in the game. NO DEAL.

Fully aware that it's easier for the game to shift his way than my way... but this has been a terrific start. The only tiny concern is the gap top right, but that's really not an issue yet. If I'm going to be hitting reds, I'm sure hitting the right ones!

NO DEAL for now, and while it's often said "it's not how you start, it's how you finish," I really think this is a configuration where the middle part of this game is where we'll decide this game. 21, 20, 22...

The Banker must be very glad this sort of strength has come on a classic board rather than a pumped-up one... woah.

The tone has suddenly started to shift very serious. The Banker comments that any board with the players power 5 in is a great board, but saying that half way through, it makes him awfully uncomfortable. There's no Button to save you (or him). No Box 23 to fall back on if all else fails. It's you, him and the remaining 11 boxes.

Oh, and an offer of 25 grand if you deal now.

That would not be the worst Deal we've ever seen, frankly. Still five blues on the board, and no Box 23 backdoor bailout if I win one; the offer is more than half the mean; oh, and it's a big sum of money, at that.

The depth of reds I have absolutely feels sufficient to turn down an offer at this level of generosity, though, and just being able to turn down £25k at any time in any situation reduces the Banker's ability to lowball a late-game offer if the board turns volatile. NO DEAL!
