I did a bit of Twit snooping and, erm, they're still together. It's a good job you didn't add ''I'll eat my hat'', because right now you'd be chewing away a deep fried hat on a china plate.

It actually feels strange looking back on all these old shows knowing the dream factory is no more

4 years ago, Hannah salvaged £1,313 from a game that looked promising mid-way but then crashed, and then declined the EASIEST banker's gamble ever, which was on a £750/£3,000 finish! Yet she got away with it and only had £750 in her box :?

7 years ago, Gillian was left with the nightmare finish and became the millionth member of the 1p club in season 5

11 years ago, Dutchess Helen (the first of about 14 or so players with that name, yet was the only Helen NOT to stand in the east wing!!) got off to a disastrous start and lost all of the power 5 in the first two rounds! Due to her applauding early luck, her first offers were £900, then just £200, then they lingered around the £1,000-£2,000 region, until a much-needed turnaround happened in the last round, where Helen was left with £5,000/£20,000 finish, where she got offered an ABOVE AVERAGE £13,000! :D Helen dealt, but the banker got away with it as she had £20,000 in her box all along

12 years ago. Umm, I'd just finished my first year at high school..... :ponder:

11 years ago, Karen who stood in E3 dealt at a generous 8-box offer of £17,000 with only the £250k higher. The proveouts didn't favour her at first as she could've had £55,000 if she went one more round  Luckily though, she found the £250k in the last round and had £15k on the table, giving Karen a narrow technical victory despite going one round too soon

Also worth mentioning that it was Karen's 33rd show, and at the time, she was the longest running player ever. Of course her record would only be held for a couple more months before 50 shows Lucy arrived, and by Marcus' game, Lucy had reached 34 shows, beating Karen's run with another 16 shows to go :smt023

So, £5 Irene (The first ever SWAPPER), 1p Nick, Jenni who was the original 11-box dealer, Dave and his 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. system and Pat who had the first ever successful swap, were all well over a decade ago now!

Decade yesterday since the much-telegraphed, choreographed debut win for the £250,000.

Decade today since the wake of the jackpot being won and the player, Scottish lad, getting offered nothing but swaps until all the money was gone.

I actually just watched Alan's game from 11 years ago yesterday. Arguably the unluckiest game of Season 1. In the first round he lost all of the power 5 except the £100k, never got any offers higher than £2,500, by 11-box he had a £100k-strong one box game, then that went in the fourth round thanks to none other than the black widow herself, Aileen (She was quite a looker by the way!! ;-) ), and when the banker finally gave Alan a chance to salvage something by offering him a pretty much on-the-mean £1,000 on a 4-blues/£5k final 5, Alan dealt, only to find he could turned it all around and had £5,000 in his box! :(

Alan taking out four of the power 5 at the start was very ironic considering what happened on the same date a decade later! :smt023

11 years ago, the 1p club gained it's second member, in the most heartbreaking fashion :(

(Believe it or not, today is the first time since then, that the month of March has started on a Wednesday!! The last time February 28 fell on a Tuesday was in 2012, but that was a leap year!)

Well, let's wind our clock back 11 to the last time April 8 fell on a Saturday!! It was the game of the legendary JT who was best remembered for his hokey-cokey dance and his rather risque dance with his former neighbour in the east wing who played a few weeks earlier! :|

He also got a surprise OPW after making one of the most cautious deals ever. Accepting a DERISORY £39,000 on a £500/£20,000/£50,000/£100,000/£250,000 final-5 and then taking the three highest amounts in the proveout!!

The first week of April 2006 was an odd one really, it started with Jim H's mediocre win of £9,900, then Kirsty's unforgettable near-£250k win which saw her leave with £75k, then two ultra-cautious deals which resulted in £100k squanders (Though Johnnie's deal wasn't really that bad for what he had on the board. Sandra on the other hand, DEFINATE member of the horrible deals club :smt011 ), then Helen's healthy £22k win which could've been bettered by £5,000, and then JT's game!

Ironically, Noel started the first week of April by dubbing it 'Beat the banker' week, yet the only OPW was JT, who achieved it by having the nightmare round after an ultra-cautious deal at 5-box!

11 years ago, the last time June 12 fell on a Monday, we were 2 days into the infamous double deal week, which had two shows a day from the Monday to Saturday, as well as an extra showing of DoND on the two Sundays (DoND's 'day of rest' at the time) either side of it

The first game was Louise, best known for her "Whack out the blues!" speeches when opening her box on the wings! :-D Lou had a great game, she dealt at 8-box for £30,000 (a very generous offer for the board, as she had 4 blues/£15k/£35k/£50k/£250k). She could've had £50,000 if she went another round and came close to squndering a big finish until she found the £250k in the last box and had £15k in her box! :D A great game perhaps soured a little by the fact that Louise had been fired from being a college lecturer due to her appearance on the show :(

The second game in the evening was however far less fortunate, as Carlton had a strong start, and after 11-box, the game slowly fell apart and Carlton became the first of 3 players to pocket a tenner that week! :( Ironically, 1p Nick (along with several other DoND hall of fame past contestants) had made a guest appearance in this game!

You certainly show your work. I remember this well and I'd certainly be happier with an additional £30k in the bank than a job at that college. Another opportunity would have come along soon enough, it's not like it was gross misconduct or she was banging her students two at a time across the canteen table.

It was the college in my home town, I remember it from our local paper. Definitely a good swerve!

Yesterday marked a whole decade since £45k Kathleen. She did one of the weakest deals of Season 2 (thankfully, poor deals were a rare occurrence in the second season), by dealing for a fairly stingy offer on a 10p/£20k/£50k/£100k/£250k board just like JT did. Unlike JT who got away with murder and took out the three largest after he dealt, things went totally the opposite for Kathleen and she was left with the DREAM FINISH! Kathleen's game was basically an EXACT copy of £70,000.01 Gaz a few months earlier, but with much crappier offers, and was ironically the second highest win of June 2007!

11 years ago on this day was the game of Ryan, which was better known as 'The game where Noel finally remembered Shell who had the all-blue opening round before Aaron did it', after Ryan almost had an all-blue opening round but found the £1k in the last box! Ryan dealt at £15,500 at 8-box but could've had £25,500 if he went another round, but he only had £500 in his box all along. Spookily, Ryan had a near-identical 8-box and 5-box to Pennie in the previous game (and he had a £50k/something else final 2 AND had 'the other amount' in his box too, just like Pennie did)!!

10 years ago, a big milestone occured as DoND celebrated it's 500th show, with a jacked up top prize of HALF A MILLION POUNDS on offer! The 'pilgrims' were all past contestants and DoND's, at the time, only quarter-millionaire, Laura was asked to pick the player out herself (which means the 500th player could've been someone who'd only just arrived)!

That however wasn't the case, and the player chosen by Laura was ANNIE, who had been on the wings for well over 20 shows. The game got underway and the first box, the VERY FIRST box was the £500,000! Everyone was shocked, Carol who revealed had a look on her face of "What the bloody hell just happened?!". Annie just laughed and said "Don't worry, it's just a normal game now!"

After that, the game struggled to get going, but she got £10k and an OPW. Though it was a pretty mediocre win for such a big occasion and a £500k special!

3 years ago, Billy had one of the worst trainwrecks ever. He turned down 6 joke offers and ended up with 10p, Box 23 didn't help things either as his winnings were halved to 5p :( The only offer worth ANY consideration in Billy's game was £1.23 at 2-box for comedy value!!

4 years ago, Irene continued the relentless run of mid-2013 caution as she dealt at £10k at an extra offer at 4-box, but unlike other people who were getting away with it at the time, Irene was punished in style and was left with a £35k/£75k finish, and had £75k on the table

11 years ago, John had another total trainwreck game, where he had TEN blues and just £3k and £75k on the red side at 10-box!!  He nearly turned things around, but sadly found the last remaining reds in the final round, and went away with £100 :(

The last 2 weeks of Season 1 after Nick M was a pretty bad run, first we had 3 people dealing too late, then too soon, the an 11-box deal that neither worked out perfectly nor was punished in style, a 1p win, and then a brief reprieve with a power-5 level OPW which still left people feeling unsatisfied! Then there was the final week which had 4 blue wins (including 2 more 1p winners), and even Chris and Naqiyah who won reasonable amounts, still undersold their boxes!!

Actually i just realised something spooky - In 2006, the 17th, 18th and 19th of July had 3 trainwrecks in a row, and in 2014, the 17th, 18th and 19th of July had three trainwrecks in a row!!

3 years ago, Kelly played in one of the show's last themed weeks, the ideal summer specials, and had an unlucky game where she played to the end and won £5 from her box, which was then halved to £2.50 as box 23 didn't help things either :(

4 years ago, Ste waited 31 shows for his game and came to the table dressed as Iggy Pop as it was the first of the Dealfest specials. Unfortunately, there was no end in sight for the relentless run of extreme caution and poor offers, as Ste dealt at £14k at 8-box with £15k, £35k, £75k AND £250k still higher :smt019 :smt011 However, it was his highest offer and the £35k being in Ste's box was the only thing stopping it being an OPW.

Seriously, what WAS wrong with the players in the second half of 2013? Even when players had strong boards, people were just becoming too scared of playing of playing beyond 8-box, undervalued boards were going unrecognised left right and centre and it was just becoming EXTREMELY repetitive and predictable with poor offers, at least half the wings giving cautious advice and telling the players "how generous the offers were", and the players predictably dealing. It's like they'd all been brainwashed backstage before the start of each show :smt009

5 years ago, Mark De Sousa become DoND's unluckiest player EVER. At 9-box, he had 10 blues/£5k, then 9 blues at 9-box, his highest offer was just £199, and at the end, the banker offered Mark a special gamble - if he won the higher amount by opening his box, he'd win a family holiday, but if he won the lower amount, he would win ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He took the gamble and the lower amount was revealed in his box, meaning poor old Mark went home with SQUAT and officially became DoND's all-time unluckiest player

6 years ago, Barnaby had a comparably better game by being the last player of the season. He won £15,000 by opening his box after being forced to the end by a SWAP-only 2-box offer and scored an OPW!

Before 2011 and after 2014, no one else played on this date due to summer breaks, and whenever DoND went off to a summer break, the last show of the season was no later than July 25.

Around 10 years ago today the show started recording games in the post-Northern Rock and recession climate. Scores of contestants sh*tting themselves so much that they accepted first offers to avoid having to turn off the leccy.

A year ago, the curtains were about to fall on the Dream Factory for good :( A wheelchair-bound Shazi played the second-last studio game ever, after just 11 shows on the wings and scored a £10k OPW - The last EVER spanking in the dream factory!

The final studio shows that aired in November/December 2016 had been in the can for well over a year because of the show taking many breaks due to horse-racing telecasts and being off screen for months on end during the middle part of the year
